HOW I SCREWED UP MY PAGE RANK
Two months ago this blog was displaying a PR3
icon I was so relieved and elated then that I begin to relaxed to my SEO campaign,that was the time that I started to further monetize my site by signing up to selling links programs like TEXTLINKADS,LINKWORTH and ASK2.COM.I remembered signing up to at least 5 of these kind of programs.Yeah this lind of programs are very tempting they’ll pay you $2-$10 per links depending on your page rank I’ve read it from from some bloggers who’s making a good income doing this kind of schemes,well GOOGLE caught me doing this stuff{it’s obvious I’ve got all those selling links banner all over this blog}and slapped me with a PR0,it happens on valentine’s day I just saw my page rank checker displaying 0,so the first thing I did is to check it further to some page rank checker and much to my astonishment my blog indeed has a page rank 0,GOOGLE could have demoted me to pr1 or pr2 to give me some sort of warning.After doing some contemplations I decided to go back to my SEO campaign I’ve decided to use GOOGLE WEBMASTER TOOLS to see what’s gone wrong and how can I get my PAGE RANK back.Honestly I’ve never used google webmaster tools before I just don’t know why then {this is one of my big mistakes,if you’re a serious blogger you have to use this tools along side with what you’re currently using .}I’m using a site meter which is installed to my page it can gives an accurate report of my traffic but sadly it can’t diagnose any weaknesses of your site.Google webmaster tools has given me an accurate report on the condition of my site it is also there that i read that they’re penalizing any site that involves in selling links to gain a page rank and I quote them
We work hard to return the most relevant results for every search we conduct. To that end, we encourage site managers to make their content straightforward and easily understood by users and search engines alike. Unfortunately, not all websites have users’ best interests at heart. Some site owners attempt to “buy PageRank™” in the form of paid links to their sites. Buying links to improve PageRank violates our quality guidelines
as they say ignorance excuses no one however my blog is still indexed in their search engine and also I could request for reconsideration,so that’s what I did I’ve received a confirmation that they’ve received my request and so I’ve just wait and see what happen now and I ‘ve also take down all those selling links banner and discarded such scheme.
This whole thing {about losing my page rank}gives me a whole new perspective about SEO,running a site and what you want to accomplish.It is now that I realized that the basic of running a good blog it’s all about content and what you can offer to your friends and visitors and to my SEO campaign I’ve got a lot of reasons to cheer upI;ve never been vigorous in my SEO effort that in the last 2 weeks I’ve acquired some software and additional knowledge on SEO and also on the positive side my ALEXA ranking rose from 6,986,435 to 1,196,622 this the result of my campaign I just hope I could make it to the 500,000 threshold one of this days.
I know sooner GOOGLE will do an update again on this blog and we’ll see if this blog will get it;s nod this time around.
