REASONS WHY YOU SHOULD GET A DOMAIN NAME
Finally after more than a year {15 months to be exact}of blogging on blogspot…I’ve finally got my custom domain name,the blog that used to be known as freemoneyhub.blogspot.com is now known as thefreemoneyhub.com …I believe it’s a wise decision on my part,my plan back then is to get one early next year I’ve already got an account to GODADDY and some cash in my paypal account coming from my free money programs
I’m not rushing to get one,I’m studying my options,gathering some articles and tutorials on how to get a domain name.I’m weighing all the pros and cons …It was at this stage that me made realize that I should get a domain name as soon as possible.
Fortunately when I checked the availability of my chosen domain name it’s still available so I purchase the domain name thefreemoneyhub with .com as the extension,the normal price was $10.70 but I’ve got it for only $7.70 because of the coupon code I’ve got from one of my forums.

Having a domain name of your own builds credibility in the eyes of search engine bot and visitors,they’ll know that you’re planning to be here on a long haul,that’s makes it easier for your visitors to bookmark your site or subscribe to your feeds and if yours is a business type,then it is more crucial to get a domain name,it’s like setting up your own store and managing it with all your regulations than having a stall with other dozen occupants in a market bounded by the strict regulations of the stall owner.
TOTAL CONTROL AND PORTABILITY
Domain name and website content are two different things this is what I believe while your domain name is your identity here in the web your website is what you will showcase online …and basically getting a domain name means also getting a web host ..from your web host you can have total control of your website,you can choose the kind of script that is suited to your site content …In my case my site is a blog type one,I’ve got 3 available options on my fantastico script maker on my cpanel there are wordpress b2 revolution and nucleus,I’ve chosen wordpress with so many theme to download and plugin to install it’s a blessing to us blogger blogging on wordpress…Using an email forwarders you can change your email address from yourname@yahoo.com to yourname@yoursite.com makes you no different from those famous and popular websites and if you want to move from a better web host you can do it with just some minor technical adjustment something you can’t do if you’re just “SUBDOMAIN”
THE FEELING OF BEING VALUED
There’s an air of prejudice here on the web against personal and commercial sites that have their own domain name on it…and I still haven’t seen a subdomain that ranks high on major keywords against sites that got a .com on it.
THE CONS
The only con that I encounter or could think of when you got your own domain name is that you have to update all your links from your old blog ..I would like also to mention that my blogspot hosted blog got 70 backlins on it when i got my domain name I have to start all over a gain,so now I’m now still in the process of updating all my previous links but it’s nothing compare to what you will reap in the future..that is if you’re a running your website on a long haul.
